A Glass of Water, a Rider and a Horse in Action
Over 1,300 of Australia’s top horses and ponies representing 17 breeds will compete in 400 classes at the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show – a showcase of the finest, at one of the biggest equestrian events in Australia.
The 2012 Horse show puts together an exciting new Open Side Saddle Champagne Challenge class, held in the Main Arena. Entrants are asked to ride side saddle with a plastic glass filled with water, keeping their balance, while negotiating a course in the fastest time without spilling the contents of their glasses. A real challenge!
See this challenge in the Main Arena on Saturday 25 February at 5.50pm.
All the horses at the Show are champions in their own rights and compete in Canberra for one of the most coveted prizes in showing, a Royal Champion sash.
More than 2,000 prize ribbons will be awarded during the five day event.
Interview and photo opportunities will be available at the Media Launch.
