Beau Young Animals Rock

Beau Young Animals Rock

Beau Young is an Australian singer, songwriter and World Champion surfer, carving a strong and loyal fan base in the folk-rock / acoustic music scene. Crowned a World Champion surfer in both 2000 and 2003, Beau is also a  songwriter and children's performer.

Beau brings music to life in this show with a ‘down on the farm’ theme. These high energy, all-singing, all-dancing shows include Beau with guitar and mascot Wentworth the Pig.

Beau and Wentworth the Pig will be playing on the ActewAGL stage!

“Animals Rock is specifically designed to make little feet dance and big hearts sing. We want these young souls to be free to express themselves creatively and individually through dance, song and having fun. We
guarantee adults will want to join in the fun too!” Beau Young

Bullock Team

Bullock Team

Ron McKinnon’s grandfather, Bert, had his first bullock team in the early 1920’s on a property to the north of Tomerong, “Bayview”. He cut timber, mostly spotted gum for boat building, on the property and then carted it to Huskisson using two jinkers behind the bullock team – one log a day!

Ron will be at the show with his bullocks, he drives the bullocks the same way his father and grandfather did, using the same language and the same equipment. Ron uses the team in his forestry work, snigging logs out of the bush, where they are often better than logging equipment as they are able to pull a log out of the bush with minimal impact on the environment.

Ron’s bullock team is one of only a handful of working teams left in Australia and will be on display at the 2013 Centenary ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show.

Toyota V6 Hilux Heroes

The Toyota V6 HiLux Heroes will once again be performing at the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show. Four of Australia's top drivers will pilot the slightly modified V6 HiLux's in a range of high speed drifting, nose-to-nose driving, reverse hand break turn flicks, and high speed crossovers.

Other highlights of the V6 HiLux Heroes performance include a stunt in which the driver balances the HiLux on two wheels and another featuring a 12m ramp-to-ramp jump. Between them the Toyota V6 HiLux Heroes team has several decades of experience in a range of motorsport categories from rallying to drifting, motorkhanas, dirt circuit racing and stunt work. Driving the unbreakable 4x2 V6 Toyota HiLux, the stunt vehicles have been beefed up in the suspension department, received modified exhaust systems, and 16 inch alloy wheels, tailored with SAAS sport seats, racing harnesses, as well as a safety roll cage.

The Crafts Expo

The Crafts Expo

To celebrate the centenary of Canberra, there will be period costume worn throughout the pavillon. The costumes have been handmade by very talented local ladies and have taken months to complete. Another real highlight of the Crafts Expo will be an old spinning wheel that will be used to spin yarn. Even though the style of wheel may have changed spinning is still as popular as it was in 1913.

The Crafts Expo features more than 1200 entries each year and is one of the largest displays of its kind in Australia. It displays a huge variety of crafts including decorative folk art, beading, crochet, cross stitch, dolls, embroidery, felting, knitting, lapidary, pottery, porcelain, spinning, sewing, textiles, woodwork.

This year the Craft Expo is celebrating the theme "The Centenary of Canberra", so it will be very exciting to see what exhibits will be created to celebrate 100 years of Canberra.

Every aspect of the display will be made by a talented array of craftspeople, so it will surely be a sight to see.
