Celebrating the Centenary of Canberra

The Lacemaking Sub-Section at the 2013 Royal Canberra Show offers a range of classes to enter for those who enjoy using their imagination and creativity to make lace items!

What Classes can be entered in the Lacemaking Sub-Section? 

Open to all ages are the following challenges:

  • Any article of Lace depicting your interpretation of ‘Celebrating the Centenary of Canberra’
  • Australiana – Any article of Lace depicting Australian Sport
  • Great Canberra Scarf Competition
    The Great Canberra Scarf Competition, sponsored by Galifrey Alpaca Textiles, provides the opportunity for lacemaking enthusiasts to use their creativity and imagination to make a scarf reflecting the theme of ‘Centenary of Canberra’.

To cater for all levels of experience and ability in lacemaking, there are competitive classes for non professional novices (have less than 2 years experience), non professionals (with more than 2 years experience), professionals, seniors (65 years and older) and a section just for schools including Primary, High School and College.

What’s Next?

Start your lacemaking creation! 

Have your entry form submitted by mid December 2012 (refer Craft Expo Schedule 2013) and then deliver your creative works on the due date in February 2013.

Then come along to the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show 2013 to see how you fared in the Lacemaking challenges and join us in celebrating the Centenary of Canberra!

** DOG MANAGEMENT POLICY **

No dogs are permitted except for registered Guide or Assistance Dogs.
If you bring a dog, you will be asked to leave.
Your entries will be cancelled and there will be NO refund given.

** CAR PARKING POLICY **

Unauthorised vehicles are not permitted to park on the grounds.
Any vehicles on the grounds will be asked to move or will be referred to security.
